High blood levels of a compound could predict Alzheimer's. A biomarker has been identified in the blood that could help predict a person's risk of developing Alzheimer's disease. In the study, published in the journal Neurology, they were taken blood samples from 99 women, between 70 and 79 years old, in which the presence of a fatty compound, associated with inflammation and cell death, called ceramide was searched.
