What tools are necessary for the care of a garden?

If you are amateur gardeners, or want to start being one, the most normal thing is that you have no idea what you will need to work.

Here is a simple list of some of the most common garden tools and utensils and their respective uses:

Shovel:We will use the shovel to dig the soil and prepare it for cultivation. The shovel is ideal for creating small holes to place the seeds.

Rake:We will use the rake to smooth the ground. The rake has sturdy tines made of aluminum or steel, which break up the dirt balls and distribute the stones and pebbles over the surface of the garden. Then we can turn the rake, so that the tines are facing upwards, and use the flat part to level the soil and make it ready for planting.

Rake (leaf catcher):This type of rake (leaf rake in English) is used like a broom. Its tines are flexible and fine, making the rake an excellent collector of leaves and other light debris that may be on the surface of our garden.

Cava gallows:The cava fork serves to oxygenate the earth. It looks like a “giant” kitchen fork, and can be used to stir and aerate the soil.

Hoe (or weed puller):To remove the weeds we will use a hoe or a hand weed extractor. Both tools will help us remove weeds from the ground (especially those that are near our plants).

Watering can, hose or sprinkler:As for the irrigation tools, the choice should be conditioned by the size of the plants in our garden. Small gardens and potted plants can be watered with a watering can. To water large gardens we will need a hose or a sprinkler.

Wheelbarrow:We will use the wheelbarrow to move large amounts of soil, manure, mulch or even large plants.
